Tithe Barn Petersfield – Steph & Ben’s sunflower wedding.
The Venue.
The Tithe Barn, in Petersfield, Hampshire hosted Steph and Ben’s wedding and they were married on a beautiful sunny Saturday in September. At the very first planning meeting Steph confided that her favourite flowers were sunflowers and she requested them everywhere if possible! Throughout this blog you’ll see how I literally surrounded this beautiful bride with her happy, sunny, flowers. From bouquets, ceremony aisle decorations to wedding breakfast table centrepieces and a stunning statement flower arch.
The Tithe Barn, Petersfield is a beautifully restored stone barn that is set in the heart of the Hampshire countryside. It is also within the South Downs National Park. The setting alone allows total privacy and stunning views, which is just perfect for photographs.
Getting ready.
The Tithe Barn has recently renovated a new area for the bridal party to get ready in. It’s called the milking parlour. This is an amazing space that has been purpose designed to include a wall of mirrors for the make-up artists. A kitchenette to organise your sandwich lunches and store your early morning champagne! A dressing room, and plenty of space which I love, for the florist to deliver the bridal bouquets boxes!
Delivering the bridal bouquets is one of my favourite parts of the day and Steph and the bridesmaids were super keen to jump right in too.
A quick lesson on how to hold a bouquet of flowers is part of my signature service and I love to share little tips on this too.
Steph looked a natural born bride, and nailed it even as she practised in the Milking Parlour dressing room mirror.
The Ceremony.
After all that practising it was time to set off for the wedding ceremony, just a short walk around the Tithe Barn dive. This is another great advantage of the Tithe Barn, Petersfield. Everything is on site, you don’t need to hire cars. And the walk gives another great photo opportunity too.
Last checks, just before the entering the Tithe Barn for the ceremony.
Ceremony aisle walk-way detail, included a dainty mini variety of Stephs favourite sunflowers.
Drinks and Photos.
After the ceremony, Steph and Ben…….or should I say, the new Mr and Mrs Lang led all of the guests out of the ceremony room, under their stunning sunflower floral arch and into another beautiful outdoor space at the Tithe Barn, Petersfield.
The bridesmaids were very celebratory!
The Tithe Barn Petersfield is by no exaggeration an absolutely huge barn! The space available for the ceremony is at one end, whilst the tables are set-up and screened off for the wedding breakfast to follow. On a beautiful day like Steph and Ben’s, the drinks and pictures can take place in beautiful Tithe Barn grounds.
The wedding breakfast.
The table plan guided everyone to their right seats and of course was embellished with sunflowers.
Steph was very keen to have a tall statement table decoration on each of the guest tables.
And these filled the room with colour and personalised the space beautifully.
Top table I advise, is always a different thing to decorate as people want to see the bride and good very clearly. So Steph opted for green foliage garlanding to compliment the bridesmaids dresses and intersperse with low-level sunflower heads. The result was co-ordinated and elegant.
The ceremony aisle, chair-bunches were re-purposed to the top table and gave another sunny spot for Steph’s favourite flowers.
Steph and Ben had a magical wedding day at the Tithe Barn Petersfield. Lots of laughter, sunshine and sunflowers, everything they hoped for!
If you are interested in holding your wedding at the Tithe Barn Petersfield it really is a great choice. It’s also just a 20 minute drive from my flower studio, so nice and local for me and my team to add our floral magic touch!
Steph and Ben’s gorgeous wedding was beautifully captured by Rob at Shootinghip photography. And they were in great culinary hands on the day with delicious food and day management by Caper and Berry.
